Paul Jäde, M.Sc.

Paul Jäde advises national and international clients on matters at the intersection of sustainability and product regulation. His practice focuses on developing implementation strategies and ensuring regulatory compliance across complex supply chains.

A key area of his expertise lies in environmental and human rights due diligence obligations, as well as extended producer responsibility—particularly for plastics and packaging. He also advises on foreign trade and customs law issues arising in connection with the import and export of goods.

Beyond that, Paul’s work covers sustainable drinking water regulation and the management of climate-relevant chemicals. He supports clients in navigating the evolving legal landscape governing these areas, helping them align their business models with both regulatory expectations and sustainability objectives.

Paul advises on public product law with a particular focus on cross-border supply chains and product flows. Drawing on his additional qualification in Environment and Resource Management, he takes a holistic approach to integrating regulatory requirements into supply chain structures—creating tangible value for clients.

His work is closely tied to current EU initiatives under the Green Deal, including the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

Paul assists clients in addressing specific regulatory questions within complex business and supply relationships and designs bespoke compliance frameworks that meet both legal and commercial needs. He also advises at the interface with foreign trade and customs law, supporting clients in their dealings with customs authorities and representing them throughout administrative proceedings.

In the area of drinking water regulation, Paul advises manufacturers, distributors, and associations at both the national and international level. He supports market participants in implementing EU and domestic product requirements and works with industry associations on shaping new regulatory frameworks in dialogue with competent authorities.

Regarding climate-related chemicals, Paul’s focus includes the EU Regulation on Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases (F-Gas Regulation) and the transition to more climate-friendly substances.
